ZENI FAMILY WINERY

The history of the winery began in 1800 with Bartolomeo Zeni, a professional carter with a passion for painting. He would carry the local goods, namely fish, olive oil and wine, towards the villages along the shore of Lake Garda and towards those of the neighbouring Lombardy region.

The Zeni winery is located and operates in Bardolino, on the slopes of the morainic hills along the eastern shore of Lake Garda. It's here, in the very heart of the vinegrowing area of the homonymous Bardolino wine, that the carefully selected grapes, coming from both privately owned and long-term lease vineyards, are conveyed. The Winery also buys selected parcels of grapes from trusted local grape growers with whom it maintains enduring collaborations. Only the best grapes can result in wines with such a distinctive character that are true expressions of a unique terroir.

The meticulous care devoted to the growing of the vine, the grape raisining and the following vinification is also paid to the aging and refining of the great wines, as further testified by the realization of the stunning underground barrique cellar.

Join us on Friday night for a treat.

Single Malt Scotch Tasting - Bruichladdich
Scotch / Cigars
Portfolio Tasting - No Charge
The 'Laddie', as it is affectionately known, is often considered to be the fruitiest, most inventive Islay malt and, indeed, there has been some contention as to whether it has truly attained Islay-status. Bruichladdich countered this with the introduction of the Port Charlotte range and later with the 2008-released Octomore, the world's most heavily peated whisky with a phenol content of 131ppm.
If you know a scotch & cigar lover - do not miss this one.

Stuff We Love:

NOLA Coffee Liquer - St. George Spirits

Have you ever been to New Orleans...?

"Rich and satisfying NOLA Coffee Liqueur was inspired by a love for New Orleans-style coffee.

Roasted Yirgacheffe coffee beans, French chicory root, Madagascar vanilla beans, and organic cane sugar combine to create a coffee liqueur with dimension and depth. Just like the city of New Orleans itself, our NOLA Coffee Liqueur intrigues, engages the senses, and invites you to let go of expectations and give yourself over to a wholly delicious experience.

Fruity, savory, and downright delicious, NOLA Coffee Liqueur is a rich, multidimensional spirit that engages the palate while still being a pure pleasure to drink.

We chose to work with Yirgacheffe coffee beans specifically for their bright berry, chocolate, and round fruity qualities-flavors and aromatics that translated through our cold infusion process beautifully. The coffee's contribution is complemented by the French chicory root's plum/date notes and intriguing bitter undertones.

Sipped neat, our NOLA liqueur is delicious alongside breakfast, dessert, and any meal in between-with each sip revealing a bit more character. In cocktails, it provides a touch of sweetness, earthy depth, and that robust roasted flavor that coffee lovers crave."

"Carries the taste of very good dark-roast coffee to an absurd length. The taste of coffee lingers on the palate, along with notes of hazelnut and the earthy bitterness of chicory. The result is fresh and sophisticated." - Los Angeles Times

A great holiday item. Take a trip to old New Orleans for just $38.

CORSAIR - Triple Smoke

Artisan Whiskey of the Year - Whisky Advocate 2013
Gold Medal - San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2014

Owned and operated by Andrew Webber and Darek Bell, Corsair Artisan Distillery is located in Bowling Green, Kentucky as well as Nashville, Tennessee. Corsair "Triple Smoke" is created by smoking malted barley in three different ways - one smoked with cherry wood, the other smoked with peat, and the third smoked with beechwood. Pot distilled and then barreled in new charred oak, "Triple Smoke" has the sweetness and barrel notes of an American whiskey and the rich smoke of a single malt. Aromas of toasted date bread, smoked jerky, roasted nuts and chocolate lead to nuanced flavors of fruit, toffee and peat. The finish is long and persistent with notes of almond brittle, smoke and peppery spices.

The Ultimate Whiskey Cocktails in a Bottle

We all love a good cocktail, but sometimes you just aren't in the position to make a cocktail at the drop of a hat. Sure, cocktails have been bottled before, but they haven't ever really been comparable to what your favorite bartender whips up for you. Until now.

Fluid Dynamics has released cocktails aged in barrels, and they are pretty spectacular, maybe even more spectacular than the drinks that your favorite bartender makes for you (ingredients have a chance to merge and become a richer whole because of the aging process).

With options including The Saratoga, The St. Nick, the Brandy Manhattan, and the 1850 Cocktail there are plenty of options to
keep even the biggest cocktail aficionado satisfied too.

They come in "cocktail sized" bottles too - super convenient.
Ask for a sample this Friday.

Parmigiano Reggiano is clearly the most popular girl at school, and our Solo di Bruna Parmigiano holds the honors of both prom queen AND valedictorian. Although 365 factories in Emilia-Romagna have their hands in this cheese pot, we buy our wheels from the only four cheesemakers that produce just nine wheels each day from milk of solely Italian Brown cows- '' Solo di Bruna.'' The raw afternoon milk is left overnight, allowing the cream to rise to the top while complex flavors to begin to develop. The complexity grows through 24 months of aging, resulting in a Parm that is classic and unfailing: salty, umami-laden flakiness yields to deeply buttery and caramel notes with a nutty crunch that's hopelessly addictive - all from a cheese that's survived Crusades, two World Wars, and the escapades of Silvio Berlusconi. Grate mounds atop your pasta, toss the rind in your next soup, or just lob off a hunk, foist a glass of Barolo, and go to town.
