California Dream
Wine Tasting 5:00 - 8:00 PM
| This Is Joel Gott |
While running Palisades Market in Calistoga in the early 1990s, Joel Gott noticed a growing need for quality, value wines. Having worked at Kenwood Winery in Sonoma County, and with a family history in the business, Joel felt sure he could fill this void in the marketplace. Joel Gott Pinot Noir The 2012 California Pinot Noir has aromatics of dried cherries, boysenberries, and strawberries with hints of vanilla and white pepper. Dense and rich on the front of the palate with well-balanced acidity on the mid-palate, and a long finish.

The New York Times: "Mezcal is one of the world's great spirits: complex, gorgeous and endlessly intriguing, distinguished like great wines by a strong sense of place. Mezcal is little known, however, and even less understood, but paradoxically has been anointed in the last few years as the Next Big Thing." Read More...
By any account, Del Maguey offers an opportunity to taste some of the best in the world. Ron Cooper, an artist, founded Del Maguey 20 years ago in an effort to introduce to everybody the mezcals he had discovered on his forays into the backwoods of Oaxaca.
After some searching we are now able to offer to you these rarefied spirits - do not confuse them with Tequila, this is a completely different animal. If you know anyone that appreciates fine spirits like single malt scotch - let them know we have them. Or, surprise them with a very special gift that is not easy to find.
