HEIST OF THE CENTURY?
To give you an idea how valuable and hard to get a single bottle of
Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon is:
A $10,000 reward has been offered to bolster the investigation of the theft of more than $25,000 worth of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon, the Franklin County Sheriff's Department said Monday.
Sheriff Pat Melton has been investigating a theft reported in October of 65 cases of the 20-year-old bourbon - one of the hardest to get in the country - from the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, as well as nine cases of 13-year-old Van Winkle Family Reserve rye worth about $675.
An anonymous donor provided $9,000 of the reward and Bluegrass Crimestoppers added $1,000, Sheriff Pat Melton said. "I'm very optimistic that whoever did this will be brought to justice," Melton said. "And I'm expecting this (reward) to make a huge difference."

We don't have the Pappy Van Winkle BUT we do have the other spirts made in the same distillery
Buffalo Trace & Eagle Rare
Both are in stock and make excellent additions to your holiday line up.
This deep amber whiskey has a complex aroma of vanilla, mint and molasses.
Pleasantly sweet to the taste with notes of brown sugar and spice that give way to oak, toffee, dark fruit and anise. This whiskey finishes long and smooth with serious depth.
Eagle Rare Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey is masterfully crafted and carefully aged for no less than ten years. Every barrel is discriminately selected to offer consistent flavor but with a seemingly individual personality. Eagle Rare is a bourbon that lives up to its name with its lofty, distinctive taste experience.
The nose is complex, with aromas of toffee, hints of orange peel, herbs, honey, leather and oak. The taste is bold, dry and delicate with notes of candied almonds and very rich cocoa. The finish is dry and lingering.

"The Most Artisinal Of Producers,
Tardieu-Laurent is one of the most highly acclaimed negociants in the Rhone region of France. Founded in the early 1990s in Lourmarin by close friends Michel Tardieu and Dominique Laurent, it is currently managed by Michel. Beginning with the first vintage in 1994, Tardieu-Laurent wines have garnered praise from both collectors and critics.
One of the largest wine producing regions in France, soils in this area range from clay to gravel to sandy limestone. Predominantly featured throughout the appellation are the famous galets - remnants from Alpine glaciers, these smooth, round pudding stones naturally retain heat and moisture.
Aromas of red cherries, blackberries and forest floor nicely segue with similar notes on the palate. This medium-bodied red is immediately approachable, offering silky tannins and good acidity.

Chateau du Trignon
was bought by the Quiot family in 2006. Winemakers since 1748, the family own other properties including Domaine du Vieux Lazaret in Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Domaine Houchart in Cotes de Provence.
A nose of strawberry, red currant and earth precedes a smooth, well-balanced palate with a good long finish. A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre with an average vine age of 50 years, grown on stony, clay and limestone soils. Hand-picked, cold settled with slow fermentation and aging on its fine lees.
The family actively participates in all aspects of winemaking and has significantly improved overall quality. The estate vineyards are located in Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Rasteau, Sablet and Beaumes de Venise. In 2008, the Quiot family added an additional 24 acres of vines in Vacqueyras and four acres in Beaumes de Venise, increasing their total holdings to 150 acres.

Rated 92 Points - Wine Spectator

The Humbrecht family has made wine in Alsace, France since 1620 but began operating under its current name when Leonard Humbrecht married Genevieve Zind in 1959.
The winery is situated in the heart of the Herrenweg Vineyard along the main road between Colmar and Turckheim. The wines are made by Leonard's son, Olivier Humbrecht, Master of Wine. Olivier is a passionate advocate for wines from this region and the benefits of biodynamic and organic farming. All viticulture and vinification decisions are tailored to the belief that great wines are a reflection of place.
The estate was certified organic in 1998 and received its biodynamic certification in 2002. Olivier has customized the biodynamic practices developed by Rudolph Steiner to suit the terroir at the estate. He restricts yields, relies on indigenous yeasts and ferments his wines at low temperatures on their lees in oak barrels for an extended period. Only handharvested estate fruit is used.
The wines from this legendary estate are archetypal examples of terroir and varietal and considered amongst some of the best in the world.
92 Points ~ Wine Spectator "Poised and elegant, this has refined acidity deftly meshed with flavors of ripe green melon, papaya, grapefruit granita, Thai basil, white peach and lychee. A spicy, mineral-tinged undertow builds on the finish."
