WINE SPECTATOR TOP 100 #33
Rated "Smart Buy" "Brilliant ripe black cherry red color with excellent depth. Fruity aromas with elegant notes of wood. This is like velvet in the mouth with a long satisfying finish." This is why they invented Summer Grilling. This full bodied red is absolutely perfect with red meats, cheese, and all of the people that show up for weekends on your deck.

ICARDI TABAREN Barbera D'Asti WINE SPECTATOR: "A superb value, the consumer-friendly Barbera d'Asti Tabarin's opaque purple color is followed by scents of cola, black fruits, and cedar. Fleshy and supple, with glorious fruit, abundant glycerin, depth, and length, it is not complex, but will provide delectable flavor and intensity over time." This has been referred to as our best Summer Red. Light enough in body to chill a few degrees and sipping chilled red on a hot afternoon is a delight. And we just might open a few surprises too. BUZZ At The Old Lyme Inn The Sidedoor jazz club is the realization of a long cherished dream. Ken Kitchings has always been a true fan of jazz music and brought many great artists to The Garde Theatre in New London, CT during his time there. In 2011 Ken and his wife Chris bought the beautiful, but sadly neglected, Old Lyme Inn and put their hearts and souls into bringing its former glory to life. Once the inn became an established part of the community, Ken set his sights on an unused "side door" space attached to the inn, visualizing the perfect jazz venue: Intimate, welcoming, elegant and a quality, great sounding room that the very best jazz artists would be happy to play in! Long Water FarmNancy Hutchins has been a passionate organic gardener for decades and has begun to spread the joy of fresh, healthy organic vegetables to the community. Located in the heart of Niantic, Connecticut, Long Water Farm features three large gardens, growing a variety of greens, herbs, fruits and vegetables. Some favorites being spinach, kale, beet greens, swiss chard, heirloom tomatoes, squash (and squash blossoms!). Nancy Hutchins 860-941-8179 |
