We are lucky enough to have have six bottles of one of the most sought after spirits on the market today. Kilchoman is the winner of just about every gold medal and industry award for excellence that can be given.
Kilchoman is the first distillery to be established on Islay in over 124 years. The distillery was built in 2005, with the first run of new spirit coming off the stills later that year.
Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland with an annual production of approximatley 100,000 litres of alcohol.
Kilchoman is one of only six distilleries to carry out traditional floor maltings, but the key difference at Kilchoman is that the barley is grown on their farm, whereas other distilleries purchase barley from around the country.
Rockside Farm was chosen because of the ideal buildings available and because the farm grows the best malting barley on the island.
The first single malt was released as a 3 year old June 2011 - The first single malt released from barley grown, malted, distilled, matured and bottled at the distillery - '100% Islay'.
A real treat for anyone that likes a wee bit of The Whiskey now and again.

Araldica Gavi La Luciana
Grown in the Limestone rich soils of the Monferrato Hills of Northwestern Italy. Gavi wines are fresh, crisp and lightly aromatic. From the regions of Piedmont and popular in the nearby port of Genoa. Most of the work at Araldica is done manually, including harvesting during which a rigorous selection of grapes is made. This example is delicately balanced with lively acidity and good concentration of fruit, making it a great wine to drink with scallops, shrimp, or a nice piece of swordfish off of the grill.
Raymond Field Blend Napa Valley
"The R Collection Field Blend harkens back to the early days in California viticulture when vineyards had several different varietals planted together, and an entire vineyard would be harvested and vinified together, often producing remarkably unique wines from multiple varietals. Our winemaking team has revived this tradition of blending multiple varietals together to produce a standout wine. The 2011 R Collection Field Blend elegantly brings together 5 core varietals: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, and Petite Sirah for a wine that is layered and complex."
A well balanced, structured, medium-to-full bodied wine with firm, juicy tannins and bright acidity. The nose exudes seductive red fruit aromas of ripe raspberries, cherries, boysenberries, and cooked plums.
One of the best affordable reds for the grilling season. Perfect for the backyard party, picnic, or casual summer gift.

Capestrano Verdicchio Di Matelica 2011
Located in the Marche, just inland from the Adriatic Sea, is the area of Matelica where we find the white grape variety Verdicchio.
This is one of the most important white wines of central Italy. Capestrano ages this wine in stainless steel which helps in amplifying the smooth and fresh character.
Golden apples, floral as well as botanical notes blossom from the glass. The wine has nice texture that is backed up with fresh acidity.Lip smacking good. Drop a few bottles of this into crushed ice and water and set up shop on your deck. This is easy summer drinking at its best, a real crowd pleaser. Seafood, salads, chicken, even hand fulls of chips. Give it a taste this Friday night.
