The Official Bourbon Of The Kentucky Derby: Woodford Reserve
DerbyBottle1

Woodford Reserve Mint Julep
1 serving
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
12 sprigs of mint
3 ounces Woodford Reserve bourbon
1 sprig of mint

Bring the sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan and boil for 5 minutes; do not stir.  Pour over the 12 sprigs of mint in a heatproof bowl, gently crushing the mint with the back of a spoon.

Chill, covered, for 8 to 10 hours. Strain, discarding the mint. You may store the syrup
in the refrigerator for several weeks, preparing individual juleps as desired.

For each serving, fill a silver, copper, pewter or stoneware julep cup with broken or crushed ice. Add 2 tablespoons of the mint syrup and the bourbon and stir gently until the cup is frosted. Garnish with 1 sprig of mint.

There are a few extra steps to this recipe but the results are worth it. Oh, and ladies, don't forget your Derby Hat - that is the secret ingredient.

We have lots of bourbon and just about everything else you need for a perfect party.

Max Reserva Wines

MAX RESERVA

Max Reserva came into the world in 1997. Today it brings the Viña Errázuriz philosophy of quality and the elegance of the terroir in the Valle de Aconcagua to consumers of fine wines in more than 50 countries.

Max Reserva knows that its consumers evolve, and therefore it is once again faced with the need to evolve along with them to maintain the cutting-edge spirit that has been present at Viña Errázuriz since its beginnings in 1870.

Today they have constructed a state-of-the-art winery in Chile's finest wine region.

At Viña Errázuriz, more than 140 years of passion, dedication, and vitivinicultural experience meet with the unique opportunity of the perfect setting of the Valle de Aconcagua. This wine paradise gives rise to Max Reserva, a wine of great elegance, character, and complexity, and a true reflection of the passion and roots of Viña Errázuriz.

Please join us on Friday night and try the Max Reserva wines - presented by Mr. Ryan Connolly of Martin Scott Wines.

Max Reserva
Sauvignon Blanc - $15

Light yellow in color, this Sauvignon Blanc  presents tremendous aromatic intensity and features citrusy lime and grapefruit notes along edged with an herbaceous side that recalls green chilli pepper, all framed by a veil of  minerality that is characteristic of  the vineyard terroir. The palate has body and softness with refreshing acidity and a fresh, juicy sensation on the long finish

Max Reserva
Carmenere  - $16

Deep violet-red in colour, our 2010 Max Reserva Carmenere displays aromas of spice and black fruit on the nose, along with notes of black pepper and the toast that comes with oak aging. The long and silky palate confirms what the nose perceives. This voluptuous, juicy wine is generous in soft tannins, and its tremendous concentration and typicity promise excellent cellaring potential.

Max Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon
  - $17
Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted more than 20 years ago thrive in the valley's climate and gravel soils, primarily in Max V, enabling very well-balanced growth and the production of nicely concentrated fruit.

The special nutritional and drainage conditions of the soils and the proper regulation of fruit load help control plant vigour so the vines direct their efforts to producing grapes with highly concentrated aromas and flavor.

The balance the plants achieve over the years allows the grapes to reach optimal quality with ever-increasing harmony. After 12 months of oak aging, the finished wine is very elegant, with red fruit aromas and silky tannins.

We hope to see you this Friday Night.
