Feel 'causeless happiness' at Colorfest
Colorfest Michigan runs 11am-7pm Aug. 6 at Fuerst Park
Sing, dance, throw colors and celebrate love and friendship at Colorfest Michigan on Aug. 6 at Fuerst Park.

Dubbed the "World's Happiest Event," the purpose of Colorfest is to encourage unity in diversity, enhance cultural understanding and bring color into people's lives.

The event, which runs from 11am-7pm, features live bands, food, kids activities, yoga and, of course, throwing colors. It is a family-friendly event and open to people of all ages.

Score a TD with NFL flag football league
Youth league for ages 4-14 runs from Sept. 10-Oct.29
Sign up before July 29 to not miss out out on the opportunity to participate in the nation's largest flag football league when it comes to Novi.

The 5v5 league is for boys and girls ages 4-14, and focuses on fun. There are no tryouts or drafts. Each player will receive an NFL jersey and flag belts for registering.

Teams, which are limited to 10 players to maximize playing time, will be formed by school and grade, with practices and games taking place on the weekend. Practices are an hour before games, and the season is eight weeks long.

Men's, co-ed softball sign-up underway 
Six-week fall season to start end of August at Power Park
The best softball league in the area will start its fall season at the end of August, playing six weeks of doubleheaders before the postseason single elimination tournament.

Men's D/E leagues are offered Monday through Wednesday, while Co-ed D/E leagues are Thursday and Friday. The cost is $575 per team, not including the $15 umpire fees per game.

Games will be played at 6:20pm and 7:30pm or 8:40pm and 9:50pm at Ella Mae Power Park. The registration deadline is Aug. 15. Register online at cityofnovi.org.
Be a part of Novi's 'Vibe on Main' festival
Volunteers needed for Main Street festival on Aug. 13
Calling all music lovers. A new outdoor festival called Vibe on Main is coming to Novi on Aug. 13, and volunteers are needed to help make the event a success.

Organizers need volunteers for a variety of tasks throughout the day, and those who help will be given a wristband for the beverage garden and drink tickets. Volunteer registration can be done online.

Vibe on Main will take over the Main Street area from 2-11pm, allowing for a stage at the Main/Potomac intersection, a beer tent/VIP area, food vendors, a mini bazaar and the addition of outdoor dining patios.

Five acts of various genres will take the stage from 4-11pm, including Motor City's queen of the blues Thornetta Davis. The festival is sponsored by Vibe Credit Union, and several Novi restaurants in and out of the downtown area also will be participating. 

There is no cost to attend the first-time festival, but patrons 21 and over will have to pay $5 to enter the beer and wine tent.
