STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES ON TRASH
Details regarding service and collection days will be released next week
Trash service in the City of Novi will be changing on July 1 for all residents who receive curbside pick-up and do not have a current contract with a trash provider.

On May 23, City Council approved a contract with Waste Management to serve as the sole solid waste hauler for the collection. The $159 annual cost and collected as a fee on the winter and summer tax bills (half on each) includes solid waste, recycling, yard waste and bulk item services.

The City is working with Waste Management to develop the route map and collection days for those residents who will be making the switch on July 1. When the program is fully implemented, residents will be provided a 64-gallon recycling cart and a 96-gallon trash cart. They also may use trash bags or their own trash container no larger than 35 gallons in size and no more than 60 pounds.

During the initial phase, residents will be asked to use their current carts, which will eventually be replaced with new Waste Management carts when the roll out is complete.

A mailing with program details will be sent to all residents impacted by this change, and more information about the new trash collection process will be released in the coming weeks at cityofnovi.org. We ask that you please forward this email to friends and neighbors who might not receive I am Novi e-news.

LIBRARY WIDENING MAIN ENTRANCE
Project is expected to be complete by mid-July
The main entrance to the Novi Public Library will be closed for about a month starting on June 20 for a widening project.

Traffic flow into and out of the library has become an issue, and the wider entrance with the addition of a left turn lane onto 10 Mile Road is expected to improve traffic flow.

During the construction, patrons will enter the library parking lot via Wildcat Drive and exit the parking lot using 10 Mile Road. At no point will the library be closed because of the construction.

The improved entrance is expected to reopen on July 15.
