All homeowners who currently receive curbside pick-up will be impacted by this change. Residents will be provided a 64-gallon recycling cart and a 96-gallon trash cart. They also may use trash bags or their own trash container no larger than 35 gallons in size and no more than 60 pounds.

More information about the new trash collection process will be released in the coming weeks at

The City anticipates starting contracted services around July 1.
Residents can now communicate with City via text message
Communicating with the City of Novi just got even easier as the City has recently created a phone number to accept text message requests for service.

Residents need to simply snap a photo of their issue, let the City know where it is and text it to 248.278.7611. They should then receive a message notifying them that their matter is being investigated and an update will be provided when available.

Please note, the phone number can only be used for text messaging. Those who call the number will hear a busy signal. Also this number is not to be used for emergencies. If you have an emergency, call 911.

If you do not want to text your request to the City, you also can submit a request at
9-11am on Saturday, June 4 at the Novi Road Cemetery
There's one last chance for residents and business get involved in Novi C.A.R.E.S. Days and make a difference in the parks and community.

Cemetery Clean-Up, which takes place from 9-11am on June 4 at the Novi Road Cemetery, is a great way to honor our deceased soldiers by trimming shrubs and trees, pulling weeds and planting flowers.

The historic cemetery got its name in 1873, and many veterans are buried there including those who served in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War and WWI and WWII.

Volunteers are asked to park in the parking lots on the east side of Novi Road and walk across the street to the cemetery. If you are unable to make this event but still want to give back, there are opportunities to become a "park partner." Park partners could donate money, donate resources like shovels, gloves or flowers, or donate their time to clean a trail, a section of a park or help with planting.

All volunteers will receive a T-shirt. For more information about these events or to become a park partner, call 248.567.0316.
