Yesterday you saw some of the faces of Honduras! We have found some things are universal such as soccer and a contagious smile. Even though we may live in many different places, we are all God's children and are all the same. Joy comes in simple ways; Sam's favorite event today was a little boy who laughed non-stop at the parasite station. It spread throughout the group and while the reason for the laughter wasn't clear, it really didn't matter. The laughter was infectious!
A few weeks ago, children were taught in VBS to look for "GOD sightings" each day in every facet of our lives. We have certainly seen GOD in the beautiful mountaintops and in the faces of those we've served. Our devotions last night reminded us to not only look up but to look around and see the impact we can have on others and that our attitude and commitment means everything toward our success.

Dr. Ed had a God moment today when working with a mother and her four daughters. What began as a challenging visit turned into a revelation that the people who are the most difficult are often the very ones Christ wants us to serve. The message that Ed received from God was "get over yourself, do what needs to be done and see the beauty in all things." Being able to view the situation from a God perspective allowed him to see the beautiful family before him. His cross will stay with the Mom and Ed will always remember that moment.
Larry and Mary Beth had an exciting day in the eye clinic which was set up in a local home complete with chickens and geese strolling through!
Jessica gave her cross away today to a very brave 11-year-old girl who had multiple teeth extractions. Despite a long time in the dentist's chair, she never complained and left with only Tylenol, a smile and Jessica's cross.
Yesterday, Kaivalya, Haley, Sam, Katey, Mary Beth, Beth, and Patti all gave their crosses away to some of the people you saw in the photo journal. It was an amazing day for which we were all grateful.
Tomorrow we travel the farthest, and visit the largest community we will see on our mission trip. Elmer keeps us safe on the bus despite less than optimal road conditions! Someone said tonight they were grateful for VDOT!
Standing strong for God in Honduras!
