Our last day in Honduras! It's hard to believe. Today we went to a beach in Muchilena, Honduras -- not in San Pedro Sula-- a correction from yesterday. We woke up and had a wonderful breakfast and then drove about three hours to the beach. While there we swam, jumped off the pier, had seaweed fights, ate a plethora of seafood, and just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company. Afterwards, we drove back to Pena Blanca. We found ourselves in a rainstorm, but made it back just in time for a beautiful dinner of chicken, pasta, and salad. Yum! We also enjoyed rice pudding AND frozen bananas.
We reflected today on the time we have spent in Honduras. We agree that we have all fallen in love with Central America and hope to come back together in the future. The time we have spent here will stay with us forever; we have a completely new perspective on life. We have shared our new awareness for the things we take for granted and the things we can improve in our own lives as we take Christ back to Martinsville. We are sad to leave because we are consumed by a passion for missions and will miss the friends we have made here at Friends of Barnabas Foundation and Alfredo's House. But we are glad to come back home and share the stories that have become part of our lives. Thank you so much for your support and love throughout this experience! Keep us in your prayers as we travel tomorrow!
