Thursday we visited El Cipres, our biggest clinic yet. We had about a 2 hour drive to the village. We stopped for breakfast on the way after an early start at the most central point of the Americas (North and South); breakfast was delicious and the ladies were even presented with beautiful fresh roses. When we arrived at the village where we found a line already waiting for us. The villagers helped us unpack quickly and we jumped right on seeing patients.
The medical clinic saw an amazing 361 patients! We finished around 4:30pm and were able see everyone. We noticed that the families in this community are large with 6 and 7 kids. We made 12 referrals to be evaluated for the extended care program.
The deworming saw 272. Fluoride saw 48. The eye clinic saw 41 people and gave away 52 pair of glasses. The Dental clinic saw 46 patients and pulled 88 teeth - a record number of extractions for the mission.
Overall, This seemed to be the best day yet. We are thankful to serve where there is great need and God gave us the determination and spirit to help as many people as we did. Truly, Thursday was a blessed day.
Thank you for your prayers and support, making this mission possible, a gift to those served and those serving.
Buenos noches.
