To loved ones back home, greetings again from the Laurel Hill UMC Mountain Medical Mission Team in Honduras. Friday Day 5 was a busy day as the team traveled to Las Nieves and conducted the clinics in the local school house. The people were friendly and thankful for the services that the Friends of Barnabas provided.

Las Nieves was probably the most remote village that we visited this week, but the Friends of Barnabas bus that our driver Elmer refers to as "my teddy bear" got us there in due course. Las Nieves is located in a region called San Antonio, about 1.5 hours north of Peňa Blanca. Coffee growing is prevalent in the area and many of the men work as harvesters of coffee "cherries". There was no electricity in the village but there was running water. The view from this village of the surrounding mountain ranges was spectacular.
The team devotion Friday evening was presented by Theresa Duke, and she read scripture from Ecclesiastes chapter 3. "To everything there is a season..." After devotions, the team had final inventories to conduct and supplies were readied for the next team. Saturday will present an opportunity for the team to sleep in a little later, and then we will be off on some sight-seeing. A lunch and some time at the market in San Pedro Sula is on the agenda.
Thank you for your prayers and continue to lift up this team as we will shortly wrap up our mission to Honduras. One more journal report is planned prior to our departure from Honduras on Sunday afternoon.
