Doubly Blessed

Hey Y'all!  Greetings from Trinity Team1. We are so overwhelmed and humbled by this experience and opportunity and had an amazing time being the hands and feet of Christ for the people of the Planes de Italia community today. We served 199 people in the health clinic, 44 in the eye clinic, and 31 people in the dental clinic. 107 people were provided with deworming pills, 43 young children were administered Vitamin A, and 24 children were given a fluoride treatment to help their teeth stay strong and healthy! The dentist extracted 29 teeth today (which is not a record) but one of the patients had a tooth that just wouldn't budge! It took 15 minutes to extract the single tooth (which we are suspicious IS a record).

There were two sets of twins today! One set of fraternal boy twins who were two years old and dressed to match, and a set of baby girl twins who were just two months old! It's so amazing to be in a community and be able to help those in need. Not all of us are trained medical professionals, but sometimes the best medicine we can give is a reassuring pat on the back to a young mother or some cuddles and hugs to a little one.

We are yet to actually see the sun here, but we've seen lots of rain and fog and clouds! I feel like I can speak for everyone when I say that we're appreciating the cooler temperatures. On the way back from the community today, we happened upon a car accident that had knocked some wires down from the power lines. The gringos were a little freaked out, but our fearless driver navigated the traffic jam with ease and as usual, safely returned us to Casa de Alfredo.

Tonight we were blessed to experience dinner with the staff of The Friends of Barnabas foundation here in Honduras. It was a wonderful bilingual experience with lots of delicious food and jokes that transcended any language barriers. Now we're off to a good night's sleep to prepare for tomorrows humbling journey!

Love to everyone!
