Chicago Wilderness "Confluence 2016" Recap
V3 has been participating for the past year on the Chicago Wilderness "Water As A Resource" steering committee.  On June 7 a water summit, called "Confluence 2016", was held by Chicago Wilderness to discuss the important topic of WATER for the Chicagoland Region.  Tom Slowinski and Greg Wolterstorff attended Confluence 2016, along with 100 stakeholders from Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. Chicago Park District's Big Marsh Project Wins Green Ribbon Award 
Friends of the Chicago River recognized nine projects that demonstrate a high level of river-sensitive design at their Big Fish Ball in June. Big Marsh in the Lake Calumet area was one of two Chicago Park District Natural Areas which received awards. Big Marsh was recognized for a high level of river-sensitive design, receiving a Green Ribbon Award for Hydrological Restoration.  V3 provided the following services for the Big Marsh project:  Wetland Delineation and Plant Community Mapping; Hydrogeologic and Hydrologic Site Analysis and Restoration Design; Habitat Restoration and Native Planting Plan Designs; and related Environmental Remediation Engineering Design.
