LAGFF FILM SUBMISSIONS - LATE DEADLINE MARCH 14
 Filmmakers are invited to submit their features, documentaries and short films for consideration to the 2015 Los Angeles Greek Film Festival (LAGFF), to be held June 3 - 7, 2015 in Hollywood at the Egyptian Theatre.
Eligible films include works by Greek filmmakers and filmmakers of Greek descent worldwide; films about Greece; Greek and Cypriot productions or co-productions; as well as films by emerging US and local filmmakers with a prevalent Greek theme. Films by Greek directors, writers, and producers; films by actors in starring roles; co-directors, co-writers and co-producers are also eligible. Must be credited.
2015 submission deadlines: If you missed the regular on February 23, the late deadline is March 14.

IPDF EXTENDS CALL FOR FOR PROJECT SUBMISSIONS
The International Project Discovery Forum Extends Call for EntriesExtension Deadline: March 15, 2015 - 11:59 PM PST
 The International Project Discovery Forum (IPDF) is a pioneer in the promotion of international independent film development and co-production: utilizing the innumerable resources that exist in Los Angeles, we aim to create a bridge between two very different worlds - the American independent film and Greek/Balkan independent films.
The Forum is a four-day pitching and development workshop that includes script feedback, pitching training, roundtables and workshops. It culminates with the presentation of the selected feature film projects to invited industry professionals such as producers, financiers, distributors, and development. You may submit if:...You are developing an independent, fiction, feature film of minimum estimated length of 80 minutes ...You have a full treatment or full script in place ...with a potential for international interest or co-productions We are seeking:...Filmmakers from the following countries: Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, FYROM, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey, Romania, Slovenia ...OR international filmmakers whose story takes place in one of the countries above The LAGFF INTERNATIONAL PROJECT DISCOVERY FORUM will be presented as the industry program of LAGFF 2015, June 3-7, in Los Angeles. The filmmakers will be notified via email by the end of April 2015.

ALEXANDRE DESPLAT WINS OSCAR FOR BEST ORIGINAL SCORE
 Greek-French composer Alexandre Desplat won the Oscar for Best Original Score for Wes Andersen's THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL at the 87th Academy Awards Ceremony in Hollywood on Sunday, February 22, 2015. The film won four Academy Awards. Besides original score, the film also won for best costume design, best makeup and hairstyling and best production. The win marks Desplat's eighth Academy Award nomination. During his acceptance speech, Desplat, who had two nominations at this year's Oscars, thanked his Greek mother.
