Announcements about the 8th Los Angeles Greek Film Festival Full Line-up will be made Tuesday, May 6 - stay tuned!

BILLY ZANE JOINS LAGFF ADVISORY BOARD
Los Angeles Greek Film Festival welcomes Billy Zane to its Advisory Board. The Chicago-born actor is renowned internationally for more than 100 films, including TITANIC (1997), in which his portrayal of Caledon Hockley garnered him a Blockbuster Movie Award as Best Supporting Actor.  Among his other best-known credits are MEMPHIS BELLE, DEAD CALM, TOMBSTONE, SNIPER, ZOOLANDER, ORLANDO, THE PHANTOM, and TWIN PEAKS.  His work in critically acclaimed independent films includes THIS WORLD, THEN THE FIREWORKS, which he executive-produced, and the French farce BIG KISS (due for release next year), which he co-wrote, produced, and directed.

On Television, Zane is about to star in the new Comedy Central series Checked Out by Workaholics creator Craig DiGregorio.  Zane has starred on Broadway as Billy Flynn/Chicago and at London's Royal Haymarket Theatre opposite Claire Bloom in Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks.

He is also a celebrated abstract expressionist painter who has most recently seen extraordinary success with his solo exhibition, Seize The Day Bed, in Los Angeles and London; and, in his Art Basel debut in Miami with his Nowness exhibition. This summer his new solo exhibition will be seen at the iconic Accademia Fine Art in Monaco.

Los Angeles Greek Film Festival looks forward to working with Billy Zane in the promotion of the cinematic arts!

A LETTER FROM LAGFF CO-PRODUCER ELENI ARVANITI
EleniDear Friends of LAGFF

With LAGFF 2014 quickly approaching, we continue our HOST A FILMMAKER campaign and seek the kindness and generosity of host families willing to open their homes to house 1-2 filmmakers during the days of this year's festival (June 4 - 8).  Is there a possibility that you or perhaps someone you know may be interested in being a host this year?

We are seeking homes that are within 10 miles (or a reasonable route) from the Egyptian Theatre (6712 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90028) that can provide a private room (with separate bath) for approximately 5-6 days (varies) for 1-2 people.  Festival activities last all day long, so filmmakers will only be in their host's home to shower, change, and sleep!  We also require that filmmakers staying in host homes to provide their own transportation (rental car).  Hosts are not expected to provide any amenities (meals, etc.) For further information or to sign up as a host, please contact [email protected]

If your home should not be a match, but you would like to support the filmmakers in another way, perhaps you would consider making a small contribution to our FILMMAKER FUND. All contributions will be used to provide filmmakers with snacks, refreshments and other incidentals throughout the festival. To donate, visit the convenient link on our website, www.lagff.org/getinvolved/give.
