 LAGFF has extend the REGULAR submission deadline and fee to March 10. Submit your film now to take advantage of this new deadline extension opportunity.The 7th Los Angeles Greek Film Festival line up of films will be one of our most exciting programs ever! The regular submission deadline is tomorrow, February 23. Late submission period has been extended to March 10. Filmmakers, make sure to submit to http://lagreekfilmfestival.org/submissions on time, so your film can be included in the Festival. In order to alleviate any additional financial strains, the regular submission fee will also extend until March 10. Set to take place June 6-9, 2013 in Los Angeles, LAGFF will showcase new films from Greek filmmakers worldwide. Our foremost goal is to promote Greek Cinema and cultural exchange while bridging the gap between Greek filmmakers and Hollywood. Orpheus Awards are given to the most outstanding new films in the dramatic, documentary and short film categories by a panel of esteemed industry jury members.
LAGFF accepts films by Greek filmmakers from Greece, Cyprus and the
world; films about Greece or with a prevalent Greek theme; and films
with an important contributor of Greek descent (writer, producer, lead
actor).

Thank you to all who attended the special screening of A ROYAL AFFAIR on Sunday, February 17 in Beverly Hills. The film, one of the five foreign films nominated at this year's Academy Awards®, was introduced by its acclaimed director, Nikolaj Arcel (co-writer, GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO) who participated in a Q&A with LAGFF Director of Programming, Aris Katopodis.

VASSY HITS #1 ON THE BILLBOARD DANCE CHART
LAGFF congratulates Greek-Australian singer/songwriter Vassy Karagiorgos whose debut single, "We Are Young" (Dave Aude remix) has reached #1 on the Billboard Dance Charts. Vassy's soulful and exotic voice can be heard in TV campaigns for Chevy, Target, Victoria's Secret, Skechers and Hilton Hotels; or, on TV shows such as "Grey's Anatomy", "Ugly Betty" and "Human Target." Her music is also featured in films (THE CABIN IN THE WOODS) and video games (The Sims).

SHORTS SHOWCASE EXPANDS SCREENWRITING COMPETITION
WITH THREE NEW INTERNATIONAL COUNTRY CATEGORIES AND A SPECIAL CATEGORY ON THE CULTURE OF PEACE
 Shorts Showcase's screenwriting competition, scheduled for June 8, 2013, in keeping with the growth of genre specific films and the growth of smaller, country-focused film festivals worldwide, has announced that four additional categories focusing on the countries of Greece, Thailand and a special Latino category, have been added to the event roster along with screenplays focusing on the Culture of Peace. Winners of the Greek, Thai, Latino and Culture of Peace categories will also qualify for the overall category of Best Screenplay.
