A Message from the President
Gary Hough

Greetings LHSA Members,

I hope that all of you have had a wonderful summer and that it was filled with unforgettable photographic opportunities. Now that the fall season is upon us, I hope you are looking forward to the Annual Meeting in Vancouver, which is only a few weeks away. If you haven't already registered, there is still time, and there is still time to reserve a room at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver at the LHSA rate.

Don't miss this opportunity to hone your skills with sessions by Bill Royce, Brad Weeks, Cradoc Bradshaw, and Richard Chalfan; or be inspired by our Saturday presenters, Anna Mia Davidson, Bill Rosauer and Jim Lager, grEGORy Simpson, and our keynote speaker, the renowned John Lehmann. We have also scheduled two photo walks, a Vancouver city bus tour, our annual Trade Fair and more.

Lastly, I want to let you all know that our board has been hard at work forging an exciting new path into the future for LHSA. I've summarized our recent activities, which you can view by clicking here. Please let me or any of our board members know if you have any ideas or would like to be a part of our exciting efforts that will make our Society a hub of activity for all Leica enthusiasts.

See you at the meeting!

Null Series Leica No. 122
by Jim Lager
Over 20 years ago Dr. Robert Bingham supplied negatives of Leica No. 122 to aid my research efforts. A photo of the top of this historic Leica appears on page 14 of my Volume I - Cameras. Additional views are included. By Dr. Bingham's admission, the photos are just snapshots that he took of the camera outside in the sunlight. This surviving O-Series model represents (along with the Ur-Leica ) where it all began.  Read the full article here.
