Junior Learn to Shoot Day

The Silver Willow First Annual Junior Learn to Shoot Day took place on a cold and rainy Sunday in May.  Even with the less than stellar spring weather, we had 37 youth between the age of 12 and 17 along with their parents participate in the inaugural event.  There was a great mix of boys and girls and the day was made both safe and fun through the gracious support of 10 volunteer guides. The shooters all crushed targets and one lucky junior won a private instruction package to better her game.  The cold but happy group enjoyed a hot dog lunch and hot chocolate in the Upland Cookhouse to conclude their day.

The first annual Junior Learn to Shoot Day was free to all and was proudly Sponsored by Browning Canada, Alberta Sporting Clays Association and Silver Willow.

STAFF FEATURE Q & A

Amy

How long have you worked at Silver Willow? Since last September (2013)

What is your role? 'manning' the Front Desk Hub, or my official title is Admin Assistant.

I am an excellent Arborist and am starting my own company. Amy's Tree Care. Specializing in small tree pruning, removing, consultations and pest and disease diagnosis.

What is your favorite thing about the club?

The People. I love getting to know the members by name and if I can't remember your name, I at least know what kind of shells you like !

One thing on your "bucket list" and why? For many years I have worked in the 'green' industry, mostly as an arborist in Edmonton and I've watched the hot air balloons float over our work sites. It seems so calm and still up there! I would love to experience that!

DID YOU KNOW?
