Second Celebration of the Year

SouthFair's On the Border Fundraiser

We will continue to celebrate SouthFair's 25th anniversary throughout 2016. We held for the first time, a fundraiser with On the Border located at Knox/Henderson in Dallas. Our summer intern, Kiara, assisted with passing out flyers to promote the fundraiser. The restaurant donated 20% of total sales of those customers that bought in a SouthFair flyer.

Next we will host a bowling event. More information to come!

Two Closings in the 2nd Quarter

SouthFair is happy to share that we have helped two more individuals to achieve a home ownership status. Mr. Harris came via the assistance of our Housing Counselor, Andrea Fowler who serves double duty as a Realtor.

Our Housing Assistant, Lois Lilly assisted Ms. Quarles in becoming mortgage ready. She was able to purchase her first home this year. Ms Quarles was diligent and committed to each meeting she had with Lois.

Staff Member Spotlight: Kiara Kabbara

Kiara Kabbara is SouthFair's summer intern for 2016 via the Dallas Mayor's Summer Fellowship program. SouthFair has participated in the Mayor's Fellowship program for the past four years. Kiara is a Junior at Lincoln High School and Communications/Humanities Magnet. Here is a little more about Kiara.

I hope SouthFair continues to prosper and grow throughout the Dallas Metroplex and meet their goal to revitalize South Dallas . As for the South Dallas community, I hope the people who live here will invest more into the area so it can be well respected and thrive to be the best tourist attraction in Texas.

Another Senior Outing

In May our seniors attended the 22nd Annual Older Americans Information & Health Fair at Centennial Hall inside Fair Park! They received some beneficial information. They then enjoyed lunch at Two Podners BBQ

With the help of donations, SouthFair's Senior Care program provides services that assist in improving the seniors quality of life.

In recognition of our 25th birthday how about donating $25? With your help we can continue to do what we do best, revitalize the neighborhood in which we serve by:

building very much needed developments such as affordable housing,
providing homebuyer counseling that helps families improve not only their credit but their sense of financial responsibility,
improving the quality of life for our seniors, and
allowing for our small staff to stay afloat to address the concerns of the community.

SouthFair Attends Housing Fair

SouthFair attended BCL of Texas's Housing Fair in June. Lois, Andrea and Kiara helped those interested in learning more about SouthFair's upcoming single family and townhomes to be built.
