Fair Park Estates: A Summer Full of New Homeowners

SouthFair is elated to share that we closed on five houses between June and September! We work hard for and with our residents. It is very gratifying for staff to see the resident's hard work result in homeownership.

Harold Steward kicked off the summer with a June 2014 closing. Mr. Steward is the Performing Arts Coordinator at the South Dallas Cultural Center and was over joyed to have purchased his home. He put in a lot of work and was very diligent throughout the purchasing process. Congrats to Mr. Steward!

A direct purchase was finalized in July 2014, with Brenda Garcia. We are very happy to have her as a homeowner in the neighborhood.

In August two residents in our rent to own program "graduated". These families worked extra hard at becoming mortgage ready. Ms. Sharon Horton has become an excellent saver and also set a great example for her children on how to set a goal and accomplish it. Congrats Ms. Horton!!

Ms. Linda Stevenson and Mr. David Kinney sealed the deal in August as well. There were a few occasions where doubt surfaced, but they stayed the course and succeeded!! They are from South Dallas and are happy to be back in the area where they were raised.

SouthFair is happy to have the owner of Pan African Connection as a resident in our Fair Park Estates development. Michelle Hogue better known to the community as Akwete Tyehimba, closed out a successful summer for SouthFair during the first week of September. A few bumps here and there but Akwete stayed calm and positive throughout the whole process. Congrats to Akwete and her family!
