Patient and Family Centred Care Council
Do You Know Youth, Patients or Families who want to Give Back after Their Experience at the Stollery?

Are you a Staff Member or Physician interested in Furthering the Culture of Patient and Family Centred Care at the Stollery?

The Stollery Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC) Council is now recruiting youth, families, physicians and staff.

Since October 2009 the Council sets priorities and takes action on hospital wide initiatives to improve both hospital operations and the care of pediatric patients.
For more information about the PFCC Council please view our 2014-15 Family Centred Care Network Annual Report.

We are looking for members who:
    • Work well in collaboration and in partnership with others
    • Are positive and supportive of patient and family centred care values
    • Share insight in ways that  others can learn from them
    • Respect the perspectives and opinions of others
    • See beyond their own personal experience
    • Speak comfortably in a group meeting setting
    • Can attend (in person / via phone) monthly Council meetings on the 4th Tuesday of the month, 6 to 8pm, September to June.

If you or someone you know is interested and wants to learn more about current and upcoming Council initiatives, please forward their contact information to Heather McCrady, Manager of Patient and Family Centred Care by August 12, 2016  at  heather.mccrady@ahs.ca or  phone: 780-407-7875

If you are referring someone, please share with them why you believe they would make a good addition to the Council.  Personally inviting them and acknowledging what strengths you see in them supports their engagement on the Council.

Diversity of youth and family members is essential - we welcome applications from Aboriginal families those living in rural or distant areas, fathers as well as mothers, siblings and youth, and individuals with unique perspectives and family circumstances.

We also strive to have Physicians and Staff represented from the different areas and professions of the hospital.

"Our children have already paid; let's make sure we honor them and use these experiences to bless as many families, children, caregivers and healthcare professionals as we possibly can.  Our kids are worth it."
~ Council Family Member

The greatest strength of the Council is, "the enthusiastic commitment and collaboration of all the members towards a common goal."
~ Council Staff Member
