Recognize a Family Centred Care Champion!
FCC Checkmark
The prestigious Family Centred Care Champion Pin is awarded to individuals for exceptional service. This week everyone can be a Family Centred Care Champion and earn their own replica sticker!

Patient and Family Centred Care week is an opportunity to say thank you to families, patients, healthcare providers and administrators who demonstrate the values of family centred care.

There are so many reasons to say thank you.  Some of them might be:
1. Someone just made your day, a smile, a hug or just a friendly hello.
2. Someone spent the time to make sure you understood, thank them for their excellent communication skills.
3. You found a way to collaborate and make things better.  Pick up two stickers, one for you and one for your partner.
4. Someone helped you in a way you did not expect.
5. Someone asked for your opinion or advice.
6. Someone went above and beyond.

Visit us at the Family Room, pick-up a Family Centred Care Sticker and show someone you think they are an FCC Champion!

Compassion and empathy in health care, or anywhere else for that matter, are only possible to the degree to which one is willing to engage: with the person, with their life stories, with their illness narratives-and with one's own self in response. Deep listening and attention lies at the root of compassionate care. Stories are powerful and their power comes from being shared, heard and responded to with mindful care. In this presentation, Jaeun will share stories drawn from her own practice and experiences that illustrate the powerful effect that being heard can have. Jaeun will share some practical ways in which we can encourage the sharing of stories and enhance our ability to listen deeply.
