What do 401Ks, Business Mistakes (Budgets versus Forecasts) and Tax Law Changes have in common?  They're three important facets of business ownership that every business owner should learn about, but that unfortunately tend to fall to the bottom of day-to-day priorities.  In this issue, we address all three facets in one place, so you can stay up-to-date in the time it takes to enjoy a cup of coffee. 401Ks AND JOB CHANGES
401K
401K questions? We have answers.
Have you recently made a job change or perhaps you have been part of a corporate reorganization or downsize?  One of the most important questions you face when changing jobs is what to do with the money in your 401(k). Making the wrong move could cost you thousands of dollars or more in taxes and lower returns.

Learn what your options are, how long you may have to make a decision, and how you can avoid losing over half of what you've saved.
ARE YOU MAKING THESE BUSINESS MISTAKES?
Budget vx Forecast
The difference between budgeting and forecasting.
As a small business owner, we wear many hats.   With those various tasks we are responsible for, we are bound to make some mistakes along the way. Big mistakes often equal expensive mistakes. A small business cannot afford to make expensive mistakes. Does any of this sound familiar?

Are you running your business by gut instinct?  If so, you can be hindering your growth.  Budgeting and forecasting are important components in helping a business grow.

TAX LAW CHANGES
Taxes cloud
Tax law changes might affect your first quarter 2016 filing.
Part of the value of utilizing a bookkeeping service is that we stay abreast of current changes in tax laws.  Did you know there were 55 tax benefits extended in the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 that expired on December 31, 2013 that affected this year's tax filing?

On July 31, 2015, the President signed the Surface Transportation and Veterans Health Care Choice Improvement Act of 2015 (Highway Act). In the Highway Act, there are several critical changes to current tax law.  If you're a business owner, these tax law changes can affect you in first quarter filing for 2016.
