BUSINESS DEDUCTION GUIDELINES   

Building relationships through business entertainment is necessary. But, business owners should be aware as to the types of expenses that can be deducted and how to document those deductions. The IRS is clear on its rules for deductions for meals and entertainment. Although expenses for these types of activities can be deducted, it is also important to monitor these costs with the return on investment in mind. EDUCATION DEDUCTIONS WILL HAVE TO WAIT                   

The American Opportunity Tax Credit is a refundable tax credit for undergraduate college education expenses. This credit provides up to $2,500 in tax credits on the first $4,000 of qualifying educational expenses. The credit can be claimed by individuals or their dependents if the student is enrolled part or full time in post-secondary education.
