WVCS next PTO meeting will be the Monday AFTER Thanksgiving break - ("Cyber") Monday, November 30th at 7pm in the church lobby. Look forward to seeing you all and getting some fresh, new ideas back from break! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families!

Our next restaurant fundraiser is Thursday, November 12th from 4pm - 9pm at CHICK FIL-A in Northridge! BRING THIS FLYER WITH YOU!
Your support makes it possible for us to continue to provide items for you student's classroom, athletic supplies, etc. Thank you for participating! Please see the link for the flyer. Remember - you must bring the flyer for WVCS to get the fundraising dollars.

See's Candy!!! See's Candy order forms should be all turned in by now. Our candy order is in process. Once we have a final count and profit dollar amount, we will announce it. All the profit goes back into your student's classroom and the school! Thank you for your participation! Your order will be given to your student the week before Thanksgiving break.

Our annual Holiday Boutique is just around the corner! November 14th from 9am to 1pm in our gym! If you know anyone who would like to be a vendor in this event, please have them contact Lori Wilson. It's not too late for more vendors. We will need LOTS of volunteers for this fundraiser - bake sale items and book donations. Please bring all book donations to the school office. Prizes given for the classes that have the most visitors to our Holiday Boutique: 1st place prize - Pizza party and cupcakes! 2nd place price - Ice cream party! Go students! Be on the look out for a Sign Up Genius and commit to serving! See link for more information.

Box Tops for Education! Please remember, WVCS collects Box Tops! PLEASE bring them to the school office. It's a great way to participate in year-round fundraising and help our school! We just sent in Box Tops totaling $407.50 for our school!!!! The final deadline to receive another check by the end of the school year is March 1st. Please get all Box Tops in by then! Thank you.

You should have received an email regarding our annual Pancake Breakfast followed by the cutest Polar Express Depot you've ever seen. There may have been a misprint on the date - It's on Friday, December 4th. If you can help donate your time at 6:30 in the morning J to help make pancakes, please notify Lori Wilson at lori.wilson@qmadix.com. We need lots of volunteers to pull this event off. It's a great time for families and super fun for kids so let's all do our part to make it happen! Thanks in advance for your service!

We're still in need of Ice Cream Friday help! The kids would miss it terribly if we don't get enough volunteers. It's 30 minutes one Friday a month to serve our students during the same time you are probably at school already. Please prayerfully consider serving our kids in this easy and very short time period each month - because they LOVE Ice Cream Fridays!!!! Thank you.

Earning 4 Learning! In addition to all the points for turning in your receipts, this season they're doing a toy drive! Donate a toy to collect 500 additional points for WVCS!

Stuff-A-Bus Annual Spark of Love Toy Drive: Friday, December 11, 6am -6:30pm
Corner of Victory & Topanga Canyon. Earn 500 points for each new, unwrapped toy.
Visit shoppingpartnership.com/topanga for information about how to get credit for your toy donation by submitting a photo of the donation by December 31, 2015.
Please consider a donation - it helps families in need and a bonus 500 points for our kids! Thank you for your generosity this holiday season!

Korean Exchange Students
Be a host family to a WVCS Korean student this January!

WVCS will be hosting Korean students visiting America for the first time in their lives. Consider hosting one or two students in January. The Korean students stay with our school and/or church families to experience American culture. This is a unique and fulfilling opportunity for our school and church families and the visiting students. The Korean students are in grades of upper elementary through middle school age.

This is our third year hosting Korean students at West Valley Christian School. Please help us continue promoting this program by becoming a host family. We are currently in need of four (4) new host families. Below is general information regarding the student's visit.
  • Students arrive in the afternoon @WVCS on Monday, January 4th
  • Students depart from WVCS on Thursday, January 28th
  • Students attend WVCS Monday through Friday
  • Global Education Company picks up the Korean students every Saturday for an all day field trip
  • Students spend Sundays with their host families
This wonderful opportunity does consider the resources of the host family and gives each family a stipend of $800 for each student placed in a home.

Prayerfully consider opening your home to a Korean student this January. Please call or email Maggie Rojas at 818.884-4710 ext. 226 or mrojas@westvalleychristianschool.com if you would like to be considered or for more information about becoming a host family!
