Class Highlight of the Week
3rd Grade Enjoys Native American Culture!
3rd grade concluded their study on Native American history with a visit to the Chumash Indian Museum in Westlake Village. We learned about the Chumashs' resourcefulness, way of life, and culture as we listened to their history, played their games, hiked to their village, and learned a Chumash song.  The parents and children had a lot of fun learning about this beautiful culture!

Character Counts at WVCS!
Our October Character trait is...JOY!

Next Wednesday in chapel, we will award the students who have displayed the characteristic of JOY!

Important Reminders!
Be a host family to a WVCS Korean student this January!

WVCS will be hosting Korean students visiting America for the first time in their lives. Consider hosting one or two students in January. The Korean students stay with our school and/or church families to experience American culture. This is a unique and fulfilling opportunity for our school and church families and the visiting students. The Korean students are in grades of upper elementary through middle school age.

This is our third year hosting Korean students at West Valley Christian School. Please help us continue promoting this program by becoming a host family. We are currently in need of four (4) new host families. Below is general information regarding the student's visit.
  • Students arrive in the afternoon @WVCS on Monday, January 4th
  • Students depart from WVCS on Thursday, January 28th
  • Students attend WVCS Monday through Friday
  • Global Education Company picks up the Korean students every Saturday for an all day field trip
  • Students spend Sundays with their host families
This wonderful opportunity does consider the resources of the host family and gives each family a stipend of $800 for each student placed in a home.

Prayerfully consider opening your home to a Korean student this January. Please call or email Maggie Rojas at 818.884-4710 ext. 226 or mrojas@westvalleychristianschool.com if you would like to be considered or for more information about becoming a host family!
