Thank you to those of you who invested time in the PTO meeting on Monday night - especially our wonderful teachers - Mrs. Hoevel and Mrs. Allwardt.  Great to have all the input and participation! 


See's Candy!!!  Who doesn't LOVE See's Candy!  Our fall fundraiser, See's Candy (holiday) Fundraiser has arrived and your packets of information, order forms and catalogs will be going home in this Friday's mail!  Great gift purchases or a fabulous treat for at home!  Please do your part to participate so we can make it a great success!


Our next restaurant fundraiser is THIS COMING Tuesday, October 6th at Chili's in Fallbrook Center!  Flyers will be in Friday's mail again this week! Please come out and support our school!  Look forward to seeing you there! 

Our annual Holiday Boutique is just around the corner!  November 14th from 9:00-1:00  in our gym!  If you know anyone who would like to be a vendor in this event, please have them contact Lori Wilson.  We will need LOTS of volunteers for this fundraiser - bake sale items and book donations.  And...Who knows?  Is there a "PRIZE" in store for the class that has the most visitors to our Holiday Boutique?  We'll see!  Details coming soon!

Ice cream Friday's are still happening during car line!  Middle School ice cream is located by the blue hand-ball wall and elementary ice cream will be located at the Connecting Place!  Yummy!

Class Highlight of the Week
Kindergarten Celebrates Johnny Appleseed Day!
On Friday, September 25th, our class celebrated Apple Day. We started our day in the library where Mrs. Lozano read to us about Johnny Appleseed. 

Our class also had an exciting time with crafts. We finger painted an apple, colored and made a Johnny Appleseed hat and colored an apple book. We also dipped apple slices in caramel and decorated them with sprinkles! We ended our day with apple sauce and a movie celebrating the life of Johnny Appleseed!



Character Counts at WVCS! 
Our October Character trait is...JOY!

We are focusing on being joyful in all that we do!
We will announce the Kids with Character recipients of the "Love" awards in
chapel
next Wednesday @ 8:10 a.m.


 

Important Reminders!
Parent-Teacher Conferences are on Oct. 15-16th

Do you have a time scheduled with your teacher yet?
We will have a 1/2 day on Oct. 15th, dismissal at 12:20 p.m. There will be no school on Oct. 16th.
Accommodations will be made for students with siblings and other requests will be made on a first come, first served basis. 
Conferences are for teachers and parents only. Thank you!

Cheerleading is here! 
Get ready to see our new cheerleading team lead the cheers for all our Falcon sports!  


Flag Football
Next week we will be practicing on Tuesday from 3:30-4:45pm to get us ready for our first game on Wednesday, Oct. 7th versus St. Paul's HOME at 3:00pm. There will be no practice on Thursday.


Softball
Next week we will be practicing on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-5:00pm.Our first game is not till Tuesday, Oct. 13th versus Valley Pres. HOME at 3:00pm at Shadow Ranch Park, Field 1.

In order to play a sport, you must get a physical and turn in Athletic Participation Packet. Fee: $75 per sport 


Drama News from Mrs. Lampechkun!

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas Production!
 
The 3rd-8th grade Christmas show is in rehearsals (Mondays 3:30-5:00).  
Lines:  All lines need to be memorized by November 16th.
Show Date:   Thursday, December 10th


5th Grade Chapel Skit-"What if...we didn't have Jesus?"
They reminded us that Jesus is always with us. Great job, 5th grade!
