The first PTO Meeting of the new school year was held Monday night. Discussion topics include upcoming events and fundraising options. PTO meetings are the 3rd Monday of the month at 7pm in the Worship Center Lobby. Hope to see you there!

Our first restaurant fundraiser is Wednesday, August 26th at Hook Burger in Woodland Hills! Their donation amount is 20%!!!! Help make our first restaurant fundraiser a huge success!

Family Game Night - Friday, August 28th! An awesome, fun way to meet new families, enjoy some fellowship, play some games and not have to cook dinner! Pizza, drink and dessert for $2.00/pp. Please RSVP to Lori Wilson at lori.wilson@qmadix.com or 818-294-1240, so we know how much food to prepare.

Daily Snack Cart - starting Monday, August 24th from 3pm-3:30pm. Drinks and snacks for sale - ranging from $.50 to $2.00.

As always, Friday's Fun Food!!! Ice Cream, special treats and drinks!!! After school next to car line! Yum!
Starting next Friday, August 28th! Parents, ice cream is $1.00 - don't forget to send it with your student! It's still hot out there - nice for them to enjoy a treat while waiting in car line.
Special Annoucement
Congratulations West Valley Christian School for being granted a six year accreditation term by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).  We have not received a six year term in over 12 years!  This is the highest accreditation term offered by WASC.   Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkeley, USC, and Pepperdine University are a few names that come to mind when you think about prestigious, highly academic and accomplished universities.  Of all the colleges and universities in the Western Region, only 161 have met high standards of quality and effectiveness to become accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). It is one of six regional  accrediting associations in the United States that accredits prestigious   colleges and universities named above, as well as junior colleges, and K-12 schools.  WVCS is honored to have received accreditation by WASC.

Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! To all the new students, I hope you have a great time at the WVCS middle school. We are very excited to have you on our campus. To all the returning students, it's nice to have you back. ASB is excited for this year and all the plans we have. Don't forget...
Join us on Thursday, September 3rd, to meet all the teachers! Back to School Night starts at 6:30pm. This is a parents only event.  We will offer free child care for students in grades K-6 in the gym from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Signups are required for child care. Families can sign up via email to Mrs. Swales.


BEACH DAY IS FRIDAY! The bus will leave campus shortly after school starts, and return before carline. Permission slips must be turned in by Thursday. If you aren't attending Beach Day, there is no school for you. Need another permission slip? Click here!

General Carline reminders: Student drop-off can begin at 7am, but students need to go to daycare before 7:30am. Carline opens for middle school at 3pm, and students will be taken to daycare at 3:30pm. If students are on campus after-school they either need to be with their coach/director or in daycare. 
Falcon Sports Update
Middle school football is looking for a repeat of their repeat championship! Girls basketball is ready to bring the championship trophy back home!

Sign-ups for Boys Flag Football and Girls Basketball are on Ms. Vaughn's door! Participation packets are due to Mr. Bloomfield by September 11th. Sports fees for middle school is $135 per season.

Chapel Update
We are excited to have Mrs. Autumn Montgomery lead musical worship for middle school chapel. Mrs. Montgomery is not only a WVCS graduate, but she also taught here for several years. She has taught Bible, PE, Chapel Band, and led the Audience of One performance team. Welcome back to the campus!

Tribe competition returns!
The RED DRAGONS are ready to defend their title against the GREEN GECKOS, the PURPLE PUMAS, and the newly renamed GOLDEN GORILLAS! Beach Day kicks off tribe games!
