Greetings!

November brings cooler weather and the early hint of the holiday season to come.  We invite you to check out our two featured wines of the month that are perfect for this time of year, and we hope you enjoy the new recipes, too!
 
Gelso Moro Negroamaro

Gelso Moro
One of the two principle grapes of Puglia, this fresh and lively red is truly scintillating and an easy drinking example of an Old World Italian wine.  An intense taste of fresh black fruit and spice combine with good body and balance to make this an elegant wine.  Added layers of complexity come from the mulberry trees that are prolifici in this area of Puglia, giving an additional blueberry undertone.

From start to finish, the bold fruit and spicy pepper seem to linger on your palate.  Serve with hors d'oeuvres, pasta dishes, white meat, lamb, light roasted meat, chocolate and cigars.

One of the keys to this dish is not overcooking the pork.  If it has just a touch of pink on the inside, it will be much more moist!

Cerasuolo
A perfect year round "red," this true Rose' is rich with cherry and strawberry, complemented by soft tannins and a clean finish.

Fruit forward, yet dry, this true Rose' appeals to all palates.  Atypically rich, this medium-bodied wine has a lingering finish of red cherry and strawberry balanced by soft tannins.  This light and crisp Rose' is the perfect year round "red."  Fun by itself or paired with salads and cured meats.

Antipasto is a wonderful opportunity to showcase Italy's cured meats with a variety of cheese and some vegetables.   It can be served as a true antipasto before the meal or when served with bread it makes a great snack or light lunch/dinner.
