USDA-NASS Crop Progress report released June 6, 2016 shows 98 percent of corn acres planted. This is 1 percent behind 2015 but 1 percent ahead of the 2011-2015 average. Overall the US is wrapping up corn planting with all cornbelt states at 94 percent or better, including the eastern cornbelt.
USDA-NASS Crop Progress report released June 6, 2016 shows 83 percent of soybean acres planted. This is 6 percent ahead of 2015 and 6 percent ahead of the 2011-2015 average. Kansas and Missouri continue to lag behind at 42 and 68 percent respectively. Large increases in progress were seen in the eastern cornbelt with Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio increasing 19, 18, and 23 percent respectively.
