Weekly USDA-NASS Corn Planting Progress

USDA-NASS Crop Progress report released April 25, 2016 shows 30 percent of corn acres planted.  This is 14 percent more than 2015 and the 2011-2015 average.  Missouri continued to lead the way with 81 percent planted followed by Minnesota which jumped to 45 percent, an increase of 32 percent.  Large increases were also seen in Illinois and Iowa with increases of 30 and 27 percent.  All states are ahead of every year in the past 5 with the exception of 2012.  The six states of IA, KS, MN, MO, NE and WI are ahead of all the past 5 years.
