USDA-NASS Crop Progress report released April 18, 2016 shows 13 percent of corn acres planted. This is 6 percent more than 2015 and 5 percent more than the 2011-2015 average. Missouri continued to lead the way with 58 percent planted followed by Kansas at 35. Missouri is 34 percent greater than last year and 37 percent ahead of the 5 year average. Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska were at 12, 13, 13, and 7 percent respectively. No other states were above 1 percent planted.
