USDA-NASS Crop Progress report released April 11, 2016 shows 4 percent of corn acres planted. This is 3 percent more than 2015 and the same as the 2011-2015 average. Illinois was reported as 2 percent planted, while Kansas was at 17 percent and Missouri at 24 percent. None of the other cornbelt states were reported.
