Ethanol Update: Production Up, Refiner Input Up, Stocks Up

EIA Weekly Data: For the latest week of 8-Jan-16, ethanol production was 15.418 billion gallons annualized, up 108 mil gals from the previous week--and with a weekly residual error of 2.228 bil gals. Refiner input was 12.405 bil gals annualized, up 307 mil gals from last week, and the calculated inclusion rate for the 123.837 bil gals of mogas receiving ethanol was 10.02%. About 94.78% of all mogas (with 130.662 bil gals annualized) did indeed receive ethanol. Ethanol stocks were up 10 mil gals to 899 mil gals.
 
Page 2 has the EIA's January STEO increasing its 2016 ethanol production forecast to 14.905 bil gals and releasing its new 2017 forecast of 14.862 bil gals. The Jan-STEO also increased its 2016 motor gasoline consumption forecast to 141.9 bil gals and is predicting 2017 consumption at 141.844 bil gals.
 
Page 3 has OPIS's last Friday 2016 D5/D6 RIN spread around 3.75 cents, which as of yesterday increased to 5.25 cents.
 
Page 4 has EIA's weekly ethanol production estimates averaging 15.364 bil gals annualized for January. The EIA's STEO is forecasting January ethanol production to average 15.1 bil gals annualized.
