Squats for health and long life
Squats are a high priority exercise since they use so many muscle groups and are essential for getting in and out of chairs for the elderly, and pump up Growth Hormone an anti-aging hormone.
Popular Medications for GERD (acid indigestion) Can Cause Problems

Some of the problems are that PPI's (Proton Pump Inhibitor Antacids-Nexium, Prevacid etc...) can lead to nutrient deficiencies due to poor disgestion, increased bone fractures, serious intestinal infections, pneumonia, and most shocking of all the rate of squamous cell carcinoma has increased by 350% since the 1970's when they were introduced.  It may take some time to get off of these medications so allow your body to adjust.  Some alternative approaches are suggested in this post.(click on photo.)

Celebrex:  What They Knew and When They Knew it

"The truth was that Celebrex was no better at protecting the stomach from serious complications than other drugs. It appeared that way only because Pfizer and its partner, Pharmacia, presented the results from the first six months of a yearlong study rather than the whole thing."
Blog post and article describing the whole deception here.

Acupuncture and Weight Loss

Studies seem to be showing that acupuncture does more than just reduce stress in helping people lose the weight. My experience with weight loss has been that acupuncture is quite helpful when the patient has a defined plan in place, like Weight Watchers, or a low carb diet. But the Science is starting to show there is more to it than that. A recent study was published showing acupuncture can improve appetite hormones, ghrelins and leptins. And a subsequent one showing that ear acupuncture is helpful in optimizing weight loss.

Calm Body, Calm Brain

A new book that discusses that the best way to calm the brain is to calm the body. In so doing you reduce stress, and many benefits  ensue. She doesn't discuss acupuncture, but does talk about stress reduction and the autonomic nervous system, the subject of all of my research.  One thing I did not know was that turning upside down, in a shoulder stand, headstand or on an inversion table, is very healthy for the nervous system and reduces stress.

Milk Consumption: Unhealthy?
When Mark Bittman , food author and critic for the New York Times stopped consuming milk, his lifelong problem with stomach distress disappeared and never came back.  His article is a complete run down of the health hazards of consuming milk, not to mention the environmental impact and expense to taxpayers.
