Greetings!

Happy New Year! With 2013 in full force, I have come to the realization that I don't make New Year's resolutions. Rather, I review my goals, meet with my advisors, make adjustments and continue to move forward in my personal and business life. A tremendous resource for me is the group of awesome women in the Silicon Valley chapter of NAWBO. Last month we were privileged to have a number of the past presidents in attendance at our holiday luncheon and it is always a great pleasure to see such a multitude of talented women come together in our community. NAWBO is having a special event on January 15th and we would love to see you there, see the notice below for more details. If you are not a current or former member of the chapter, your registration is free if you let me know by Friday, January 11th.
What Is Crowd Funding? Is it Right for Your Business? Crowd funding involves asking for monetary donations from groups of individuals who will become investors in a business or project. Crowd funding can be a fast and efficient way to gain capital and there are three forms of funding, equity, donation and debt, all of which can be very effective means in gaining investors. For more information and to have all your questions answered in person, click here to register to attend a live presentation in San Jose on January 16th.

Book Corner
As an avid reader, I always have 2 or 3 books (business, health, nutrition, biographies, fiction) in my reading pile that I can't wait to get to after I finish the current one. Recently, I read JJ Virgin's The Virgin Diet which explains very simply why "traditional" diets don't work. JJ is one of the nation's foremost nutrition and fitness experts, with 25 years of experience in coaching high-performance athletes, CEOs and A list celebrities. With credentials like that I trust she knows what she's talking about! She says: "Food Intolerance is the REAL Cause of Weight Gain." I'm following her advice and seeing great improvement in my health.
Mark your calendars for more awesome NAWBO events!
