It Is Not Your Fault
My presentation on God's plan for sex called Ultimate Life includes periodic points about how Satan tries to mess up God's plan.

One way is sexual force.

"By force I mean anytime someone forces another person sexually against their will. This can include rape, incest, or any form of sexual abuse."

At this point, I get personal and say, "Statistically it is very likely that some people here have had sexual force happen to them. If this has happened to you, I want you to know that it is not your fault."

Occasionally I'll have a student start crying. I just keep right on going. "You may be thinking, 'How do you know? You don't know me. You have no idea what happened.' You are correct. However, I don't have to know what happened. By definition, you were forced. There is no way you were to blame. Yet Satan always finds a way to make the victim believe it is their fault. It is never ever your fault."

A student or two occasionally get upset with me because I didn't change the subject when I saw it was upsetting someone. I have even had a few teachers confront me about that.

This happened at a recent program. The crying student left the room. The friend gave me an angry look and went out after their friend. Later the crying student returned to the program.

When the program ended, the student who was crying lingered until all the other students left. She came up to me, handed me a note, whispered, "Thank you." and then left.

Her note is exactly why this is a part of my program and I continue to say it even if it brings tears.

"Hi Eric. When you started talking about the force thing, I was crying. No, I've never had sex but I was touched and someone tried forcing me to. I always thought it was my fault but now that you came and talked to me I know it's not my fault. Thank you."
