Greetings!

So far, 2015 has been a great year, with two builds complete, plans taking shape for 2016 and the addition of Dan Cooper to the board. Stop by the ReStore and welcome Violet Hanratty, our new ReStore Manager. Beginning this month, every Friday seniors and military personnel will enjoy discounts throughout the store.

On behalf of the Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity staff, I would like to thank all of our volunteers for their continued support of the Habitat mission. Without our dedicated volunteers we cannot build affordable housing in Chaffee County. Whether you are volunteering your time, talent or resources, it does make a difference in the lives of the families we serve.

the Board of Directors. Dan and his wife, Beth, have lived in Buena Vista since 2008.

After 35 years, he retired from executive positions in the corporate and academic healthcare worlds. Dan is currently a real estate broker with Century 21 Summit Realty in Buena Vista.

Violet Hanratty new ReStore manager
Hanratty brings years of experience with non-profits

Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity welcomes Violet Hanratty as our new ReStore manager. Violet was born and raised in Southeast Colorado. She has four children and five grandchildren. Violet's husband Mark works for the Homestake Water Project. Violet is very proud of her family and says they are the center of her world.

Her hobbies include reading, horseback riding, hiking, camping, hunting, and being a living historian. She loves to work at Bents Old Fort National Historic Site where she teaches people about the historic time of mountain men, between 1800 and 1845.

Recently Violet was chosen as a living historian at the National Fur Trade Symposium. She has volunteered and worked at Fort Uncompaghre in Delta and Fort Osage in Missouri as well. Violet also teaches Colorado 4th graders about the fur trade as they study Colorado history and the mountain men.

Violet has worked with several non-profits over the years in fundraising, management, and as a volunteer. She has a passion for helping others and believes one of her strongest traits is that she is a compassionate person. Habitat is a great fit for her and her desire to help others and make the community she lives in a better place. She is excited to bring both her organizational and people skills to the ReStore.

She looks forward to meeting more people in the community and invites you to the ReStore to visit and get to know her and the volunteers. The ReStore is located at 101 Gregg Drive in Buena Vista.
Leave your legacy through Planned Giving
Help bring hope to future generations of families in need

Your support today makes it possible for us to reach out today to families in our community who need hope and a helping hand. But when you give to Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity through your estate or long-term financial plans, you are forging your life legacy with our housing ministry and ensuring that later generations can secure decent, safe and affordable housing.

Planned giving is the perfect way for you to leave your legacy and continue to touch the lives of families in Chaffee County after your lifetime. Legacy gifts can be done through a myriad of options including: bequests, charitable gift annuities, life insurance, memorials and honorary gifts, real estate, and securities.

In upcoming newsletters we will provide you with information on planned giving, how you can include a gift to Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity as part of those plans and how you can benefit personally from your gift. We encourage you to contact your financial advisor or attorney to see which planned giving path is right for you.
