AdviceAdvice from graduating Seniors to other students:

Students who will soon be graduating were asked what advice they would give to incoming Sociology majors. Their answers included the following:

Don't be afraid to take classes with intimidating names, they're usually the best.

Textbooks are more useful than you think! Look for similar material. Some classes will lecture on sociological concepts.

Stay focused and get involved in an internship or club.

Don't memorize the material, learn the material and apply it to your everyday life. That's how you learn.

Study hard and the work you put in will be beneficial in the end! Also, get involved!

Get to know the Sociology professors and take any research opportunity that's available.

When taking Sociology courses, I found it easier to understand when applying concepts to my own life.

Enjoy the experience!
