AKD
AKDHelped to 'Share the Warmth' with area residents

When the Brookings Salvation Army spearheaded the local "Share The Warmth" event in Brookings, our own AKD Club was happy to get involved.

The Salvation Army & AKD reached out to the community to collect new and gently used coats, snow pants, boots, hats and gloves of all sizes to share with those having trouble purchasing the necessities.

JcPenney and Runnings were among the local stores that participated by donating vouchers to be used to purchase additional items. Personal shoppers then assisted families in finding the winter wear that met their individual needs.

In addition to helping gather items, AKD members also helped by cleaning the gently used items that were taken in. The campaign wrapped up earlier this month.
