December 2014
Well we're now racing into the Christmas season - some time to sit back and relax with family and friends and reflect on some of the priorities of life. Let's also take some time out to reflect on how this year in Rotary is tracking. What have you and your club achieved this year? What's still to be to done? What will you do differently in the second half of this Rotary year?
I've only just returned from the Zone Institute in Wellington in NZ. This is an annual conference of past and current District Governors and also coincides with training sessions for incoming Governors Elect and Nominee. Every three years we have a combined session with our NZ colleagues. It was a great opportunity to share notes with my class mates from around Aus & NZ and to learn of some of the initiatives underway elsewhere in the Rotary world. I'll share more information on that in the new year but as a heads-up, pencil March-May in your diaries for a national Rotary blood drive, in conjunction with Red Cross. This will be a great opportunity to provide a meaningful community service by donating blood, as well as attracting some great publicity. And if you can't donate, then don't worry, I'm sure there's someone in your family who can and can still say they're doing it on behalf of Rotary!
Kathy and I hope you have a very happy and safe festive season.
Best wishes
Tony Monley
District Governor 2014-2015

Distict Stamp Fund
Your District Stamp Fund needs used stamps - we have had to ring around for supplies lately!! Any stamps will do, high value and foreign varieties bring in the most dollars.
This is a diminishing resource so let us use it while we can, it will not cost you a cent but will hopefully improve the lives of the less fortunate amongst us.
Send each other a Christmas card !!

2014-2015 Presidential Citation Update
Please read this important information about changes to the 2014-15 Presidential Citation.
RI President Gary C.K. Huang has made a few changes to the "Light Up the Family of Rotary" section of the citation to make these goals more attainable for clubs. The specific changes are as follows:
- For the "Best Class" Club President's Challenge, points will be earned if either the club president or club president-elect registers to attend the São Paulo convention.
- Points can be earned if the club sponsors a new Rotaract club or Interact club or if it continues to sponsor one of these groups.
- Points can also be earned if the club sponsors a new Rotary Community Corps or if it continues to sponsor an RCC.
- Clubs only need to score a minimum of 30 points in this section of the citation, instead of 40 as originally written.
The updated 2014-15 Presidential Citation form is available on the RI website, here.
As a reminder, club presidents should submit their clubs' completed forms to their district governors no later than 31 March 2015. Please do not send your forms to RI, as they will not be processed. District governors will have the ability to report the names of their districts' qualifying clubs online through My Rotary between 1 March and 15 April 2015.
Please submit your applications for a Presidental Citation to Tony Monley on later than the 31st March 2015.

Vital information for your Rotary Clubs
We are aware that there have been, and will continue to be, many changes for clubs to adapt to. One of the largest is the change in the Club Invoicing that comes into effect with the January 2015 invoice.
To assist your clubs through the requirements, our office has prepared a presentation on the New Club Invoice and the changes that will be occurring, together with the inclusion of Rotary Down Under magazine subscription costs on the RI invoice.
The presentation is in the form of Powerpoint with an audio commentary, and can be viewed on YouTube at:-

If they have any questions regarding this process they should contact our office on +61 2 8894 9800 or email to risppo@rotary.org
