We're GREENING UP at Ascension!
Those in attendance on Sunday, St. Patrick's Day, were greeted with shamrocks, and were asked to write on them thoughts and ideas about how to make our parish more "green". It is a way to live into our stewardship of our island home, starting right here in our parish home at Ascension, with our church family. And every family member gets a say in how we can build on the things we already do to reduce, reuse, and recycle, to further reduce our carbon footprint.
IF YOU WERE ABSENT, OR IF YOU HAVE ADDITIONAL IDEAS, IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO HELP. PLEASE FORWARD your thoughts to Brenda Hoffman at bgrhoffman@hotmail.com and help ramp up our commitment to environmental stewardship.
The deadline is Monday, March 25th, following the 7:00 PM Tenebrae Service.
ALSO, if you would like to help sort, consider, and suggest a project, please accept thanks and welcome to the Environmental Committee!
The Environmental Committee will sort through and recommend a plan to implement that will be announced Easter Sunday. One or more ideas will be implemented the month of April, with weekly updates and progress reported, with the end in view of celebrating our results on Rogation Sunday, May 5th.
Please turn in those ideas by Monday, March 25th at 4:00 PM via e-mail to Brenda Hoffman, or in person at Tenebrae. W e'll be displaying them all on the designated bulletin board in the Parish Hall.
