Author Pan Lidong, partner, Wang Jing & Co., discusses how the Bankruptcy Law has gone through profound reform in modern China, helping enterprises to survive or to exit the market efficiently. However, the government is afraid that bankruptcy will affect its political performance. Bankruptcy proceedings are protracted, and courts are reluctant to accept bankruptcy cases. Therefore, relatively few bankruptcy cases are heard. Reorganization attracts more attention because it tries to save and maximize the value of a company. Read more.

R�diger Wienberg and his team from hww wienberg willhelm acted as the preliminary advisor to SOLON Group, a German manufacturer of photovoltaic modules and the construction of solar power plants. The team stabilized the business, kept operating entities intact, and created adequate liquidity. In record time and within the scope of the preliminary insolvency proceedings, the core assets both in Germany and abroad were sold to an Arabian-Indian investor and over 92% of the jobs were preserved.
Small Company Rescue - Creative Solutions
Giles Campbell and David Bryan, BM&T LLP
The UK subsidiary of Creative Solutions, a transatlantic B2B services company, faced insolvency in December 2012. David Bryan and Giles Campbell of BM&T worked with local management to put in place a ground breaking Creditors Consensual Composition (CCC) across over 30 creditors representing 90% of the overdue balances to avert insolvency. BM&T installed budgets, cost controls, and selective invoice discounting to return the business to positive cash-flow in two months with profitability achieved in four months.
