Rev-W

Hello Friends,

Happy Fall! We as a staff had a fantastic retreat last weekend. It was a fruitful time of growth and prayer. I know we all missed you on Sunday, but are blessed to have such great laity that we knew you were having meaningful worship as you gathered as a community.

This week we begin a series on community called Stuck Together. "Community" is a catch word that seems to be tossed around a lot...I even used it in the previous paragraph. Community can feel like being stuck together. That can sound like a good thing--always having someone in your corner--or it can sound like a scary idea of always being stuck with the same people who know you. Being known can be scary--the masks are removed, and both the good and bad are revealed. The thing is, God has called us to live in community because it is the place where we grow more toward wholeness. So if we are "stuck together", how do we do it well and why is it so important? This week we begin the discussion of community talking about a women who seemed beyond community until she encountered Jesus and inclusion.

Blessings,

Pastor Sarah and the Pastoral Team
