Halloween Haunt Help Needed - Thursday, October 22nd and Friday, October 23rd
The Halloween Haunt is this Friday, October 23rd! Many volunteers are still needed - especially for building the haunted house structure in the cafeteria on Thursday and Friday mornings. We are at risk of not having the haunted house at this point... and it's such a beloved tradition. If you or your spouse have flexible work schedules or work from home, please sign up here today! Moms can help build, but we really need more Dads for the heavy lifting.
Halloween Haunt - Friday, October 23rd, 5:00-8:30pm
It's baaaack... Meadows Halloween Haunt is a spooktacular night of rides, games, dancing, bake sale treats, popcorn, and our very own bootiful Haunted House! (Beware: real witches, zombies, and vampires "live" there.) Hennessey's will sell meals and drinks to fill our guts. Java Man will keep our skeletons warm with coffee and hot chocolate.

This is one of Meadows' biggest events and we'd go batty without our faboolous parent volunteers. Dads, we really need you for this one! Please sign up to help: here!!

All children must wear a wristband to participate. Wristbands will be sold on Friday 10/23: 1:30-3:00 on the cafeteria patio and 5:00-8:30 at the gate. Price is $15 per child or $40 per family (adults & kids under 3 are free).
It's time for the Teacher Experience Raffle....
Win a special outing or experience with your classroom teacher! Some of this year's outings include a book hunt, a tea party, and a day at the beach!
Cost?
Buy one ticket for $5, 5 tickets for $20, or 15 tickets for $50!
Where to buy tickets?
Friday, October 23rd, 7:45 - 8:15am in front of the office or at the Halloween Haunt!

Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk, this Sunday, October 25th
Let's go Mustangs - so far we have 34 walkers and have raised $1050. Last year, we had 62 walkers and raised $1700. This year we hope to have at least 70 walkers and raise over $2K!!!
If you've already signed up, thank you! If you have not, please, please take a moment to sign up now!

Top reasons why you should sign up:
  • Earn a SKORR card and 25 laps for running club!
  • NEW! Two MBUSD/MBEF participants will be picked at random to receive dinner for two at The Strand House and one night stay at Shade Hotel.
  • NEW! Two MBUSD/MBEF participants will be picked at random to receive free tickets to the Manhattan Wine Auction on June 11, 2016.
  • Last year, for every $25 registration fee that was designated to MBEF, SKECHERS gave our schools about $150 - for a total of $100,000.
  • YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO WALK! We understand you may not be able to participate, and that's okay too - sign up as a virtual walker and consider it a $25 donation to MBEF for a $150 return!
  • It's going to be fun! Visit booths for the Clippers (Special performance by the Clippers Dance Team), Dodgers, Angels, and Kings. Take photos with the Ninja Turtles, Sports personalities, and Star Wars characters. Stop by the Kids Fun Zone, the LA Kings Ice Truck, Nickelodeon Photo Booth, Aerojet rocket building booth, and MUCH more! There will be tons of free giveaways!
  • Most importantly, you will be supporting two excellent causes - Manhattan Beach public schools and the Friendship Circle.
Click here to join the Meadows team. Please don't forget to designate MBEF as your charity so your donation supports MB schools (and not to worry, The Friendship Circle will receive significant support from SKECHERS as well).

If you have any questions, please contact Cory Kingston, the Meadows Pier to Pier coordinator.

Look forward to seeing you there, thank you for your support!
MBEF

DID YOU KNOW that donations to MBEF help fund STEM programming for your children? Over the next three years our students will experience a significant shift in the way our District teaches Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). This fall we launched Project Lead the Way (PLTW), the nation's leading provider of K-12 STEM programs. Their curriculum is hands-on, project-based, data-backed, and exactly what parents were looking for when we surveyed them last fall. We are excited about how this initiative will transform the way our children engage with STEM and innovation. If you haven't already made your donation, please consider a meaningful gift to MBEF so we can continue to support all Meadows students with programs that enrich and enhance our children's education. Click here to read about MBEF's grants for the 2015/16 school year, and click here to make your donation or pledge today.
