Redondo Gateway & Bike Path Grand Opening on Saturday, June 13

On Saturday, June 13, the City of Redondo Beach will celebrate the completion of the Redondo Beach Gateway and Bike Path Improvement Project. The new bike path and gateway into Redondo Beach is a flagship project that will increase safety for bicycle riders and will attract many new visitors/residents to Harbor Drive, The Pier and the International Boardwalk. The June 13 event will include a ceremony, bike procession with the Mayor and Expo Area with the AdventurePlex inflatable and a bike valet!

There are several things that will be fun to attend:

1.  Bike Procession led by Mayor Aspel - we welcome everyone, young and old, to don their helmets and ride down to Harbor Drive and Herondo Street to participate in the bike ride (a leisurely 0.7 miles.)

2.  Expo - the bike procession will end at the North entrance to the Redondo Pier near Captain Kids with booths, AdventurePlex inflatable slide, bike corral/valet and a chance to visit the many businesses along this stretch offering an incentive/giveaway.

3.  Opening Ceremony - you are also welcome to join us for the opening ceremony and unveiling of the Leadership Redondo Art Project installed in the new parkette.  Bike procession immediately following.

Tessa Dent has been coordinating this event and can be reached at Tessa.dent@bchd.org. Please don't hesitate to contact her with any questions.
