Career Day - May 29th
Career Day is Friday, May 29th! What's a job you think is awesome? What do you want to be when you grow up...maybe an astronaut, author, or athlete, or maybe a doctor or chef? Well, you can dress up as one of those professionals this Friday, May 29th.  Wearing a special job related outfit counts for spirit too ,so join the fun this Friday.
Math Workshops - May 28th

On May 12th Dr. Carolee Koehn, Director of UCLA Center X Mathematics and Parent Project, and Brett Geithman facilitated a parent workshop titled The Mathematical Mind.  This workshop was an introduction to a series of parent workshops on Common Core Mathematics and MBUSD's movement towards a balanced mathematics and Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) approach.  The workshop explained MBUSD's timeline, decades of research, and strategies to work with your child(ren).

This workshop had a very high participation rate; therefore, MBUSD/UCLA will be facilitating the same session on two other dates ( RSVP is required):

May 28th at Meadows Elementary in Room 28 from 12:30pm -2:30pm (sign-up here)

OR

June 1st in the MBUSD District Office Board Room from 8:30am-10:30am (sign-up here)

If you attended the May 12th workshop, we will be offering The Mathematical Mind: Part II this June.   Shortly you will be receiving an email with the date(s), time(s), and location(s).

We hope to see you there!
