Meals for Meadows at Mama D's Tonight!
|  Remember to go to Mama D's TONIGHT to support Meals for Meadows. Please present the attached flyer, which will also be in your child's Tuesday folder, and 20% will go back to Meadows. Good for dine-in or take-out from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Remember to sign the guest book to earn a SKORR card! Please mark your calendar for our final Meals for Meadows event of the year at CPK, all day on June 10th. |
Running Club Ends on Friday

It's the LAST WEEK of Meadows Running Club for the school year. Please come join us for a week of fun! Many of you are so close to the 2 marathon milestone for the end of year Top Runner Party at Begg pool on Sunday, May 31st. We would love to see you all there. Also, you can earn 25 laps if you register for the Roundhouse Aquarium Family Fun Run before this Friday, May 15th. The race is on June 6th at 9:30am. Please follow this link to register.

Pennies for Patients - Collection Boxes Due Friday
|  Meadows is thrilled to be participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's School & Youth Program - Pennies for Patients! This event is being led by the Meadows Student Council but we need your help. Collection boxes were handed out in the classrooms for your child to collect spare change. The boxes are due on Friday, May 15th. Please help your child remember to bring back the boxes on Friday. There is also a collection box in the front office. Or you may also donate online on our school's page by clicking on this link. When you donate, you will automatically receive a tax-deductible receipt to submit to your company's matching gifts program. Thank you for helping in the fight against cancer! |

Parents Ed Night at Pacific - Math Night is Tonight!
|  Pacific Elementary PTA & UCLA Center X presents: Common Core Math - Helping Your Child Make The Shift If you missed the talk at Meadows, here's your chance to hear this important information. Dr. Carolee Koehn of CenterX and Dr. Brett Geithman, Executive Director of Educational Services,will deliver a presentation that will both equip parents with an understanding and strategy to help their children make the shift to common core math standards while also providing parents a big picture view of the overall plan of implementation. Shop at Manhattan Village year round to help support your school's PTA earn a share of $7,500! Your school earns five (5) points per dollar spent at any store, restaurant, eatery or vendor cart at Manhattan Village. Bring your original receipts dated since May 1, 2015 to the Concierge Booth, near the south entrance by Hallmark and Talbots. See the flyer for more opportunities to earn points.
We collect Box Tops for Education - Box Tops are worth 10¢ each and earn money for Meadows!
So far this school year we've raised $925 for Meadows in the Box Tops for Education™ program. Our goal is $1,000 so please continue to look for the pink Box Tops on select products, clip them, and send them to school. Box Tops can be turned in by:
- Placing the clipped Box Tops in the front office collection box or
- Completing a Box Tops submission form (your child will earn a SKORR card for each completed form). Forms can be returned in a Tuesday envelope or to the front office collection box. Extra Box Tops forms are in the front office.
Please continue clipping Box Tops during the summer for next school year. Thank you again for helping!

Incoming 6th Grader Information!

THE HUNT
The Ultimate Scavenger Hunt and Games take place on Monday, August 24th! The Hunt is an opportunity for all incoming MBMS 6th Graders to meet their new classmates before the start of school. Participants will be placed on teams and asked to find/solve a series of clues and win challenges throughout the day. Registration fee covers DJ, bagels and juice, snack, pizza, lunch, T-shirt and goodie prize bag. Space is limited, and we can only take the first 240 students who register . We will have a sign-up table at MBMS 6th grade registration on May 4-5, 3:15-5:30 pm. Online registration will also be available at http://www.mbmswaves.com/forms/hunt Please look for us May 4-5 and register as soon as possible to reserve your child's spot!

Support the MIRA COSTA GIRLS SOCCER TEAM SUMMER CAMP
JULY 13-17 FROM 1:30-4:00PM for 6-13 Year-Old Girls at Manhattan Village Field Soccer, friends and fun all in one! Run by Mira Costa Head Coach Patty Perkinson and her coaching staff with the Mira Costa girls soccer team as counselors, this camp provides a safe and fun environment for your daughter to learn essential playing techniques and improve her soccer skill sets! Campers enjoy a unique low girls-to-counselor ratio. Proceeds benefit the Mira Costa Girls Soccer program. Come join in the fun and learn from some of the best girls soccer coaches and players in Manhattan & Hermosa Beach. The Camp will be held July 13-17th, 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm at Manhattan Village Turf Soccer Field in Manhattan Beach.
